Hannibal Free Clinic a Lifesaver for Uninsured People
Doctors and nurses put in long days and are generally pretty well rewarded for their work. But some in the medical profession in Hannibal put in even longer hours, and their reward is the feeling of helping someone in need. The Hannibal Free Clinic http://hannibalfreeclinic.org/ is a non-profit, volunteer-based health clinic that provides basic medical care for uninsured adults between the ages of 18 and 64. All the care is provided by doctors and nurses who volunteer their time, with help from support staff who are also volunteers.
The clinic is an amazing asset to the Hannibal area. Every year, it provides more than $2 million dollars in gifts and services without charge to eligible clients. It's helped 2,100 of our neediest residents since it opened in 2007.
Donations are the only source of income for the Hannibal Free Clinic. You can help out and feast at the same time at the clinic's upcoming fundraiser. Ribfest and Wings 2019 is coming up Sept. 7 at the Mark Twain Cave complex. The cost is just $15 for adults and $6 for kids ages 5-12. You'll get award-winning wings, ribs and sides, yard games and music by local bands. The event runs from noon until 5 p.m.
The Hannibal Free Clinic is located at 160 Progress Road. Visit their website at http://hannibalfreeclinic.org/ to see if you are eligible to receive their services without charge.
