I always love it when an underdog gets some unexpected recognition. That's the case for a new national ranking of the best burgers which has placed an unassuming tiny drive-in diner in Missouri right at the top and the locals say they deserve it.

Does this burger and fries look good to you?

Reader's Digest has just named the diner that makes this burger in Missouri the best in the nation. It's Gordon's Stop Light Drive-In located in Crystal City, Missouri. They call it "a local gem that’s been slinging burgers since 1948" and go on to praise their burgers made with "house-made slaw, barbecue sauce and chopped onions on a toasted bun" and they're not wrong about their awesomeness.

If you drive into Crystal City, you wouldn't know this tiny diner on a street corner is so famous for their burger creations, but there's 77 years of history in this place.

Crystal City is a tiny town located about halfway between St. Louis and Ste. Genevieve just off of I-55. The timing of this honor for Gordon's Stop Light Drive In is perfect since many will start driving adventures to take in the Fall color change over the coming weeks and this diner makes a great lunch stop right along the river.
