You won't see this every day. Sure, there are lots of eagles that can be spotted flying over Missouri, but most are of the bald eagle variety. A new video share shows a rare golden eagle spotted in mid-Missouri this week.

Great catch by Mark of Messler Outdoors on YouTube who just shared this short video of a golden eagle over mid-Missouri. Mark didn't mention exactly where he saw the golden eagle other than mid-Missouri. NOTE: Make sure your sound is turned up for this one. The golden eagle makes his presence known loudly.

As the Missouri Department of Conservation mentions, you will sometimes see golden eagles in Missouri, but it is VERY rare. How rare are golden eagles in Missouri? The Department of Conservation estimates that there are 2,500 bald eagles that make Missouri their winter home. The last count of waterfowl from a couple years ago only counted 15 golden eagles in one Missouri refuge.

That gives you an idea of how special it is when someone in Missouri not only sees a golden eagle, but also captures video of the moment. Well done, Mark from Messler Outdoors.
