Geese Falling from the Sky Dead Near Kansas City, Missouri?
I cannot imagine many things more jarring than walking along minding your own business when suddenly geese start dropping from the sky around you. That's exactly what's happening near Kansas City, Missouri right now and there are photos to prove it.
I saw this shared by a member of the Birds of Missouri Facebook group just a few minutes ago. It's a reference to what's going on in and around the Kansas City, Missouri area. The post originated from Operation Wildlife which shared pictures claiming that dead geese were falling from the sky in eastern Kansas and western Missouri.
Here are the text details of what they say is going on:
"PSA - Avian influenza has been confirmed in the metro area. With the uptick in migration we have been receiving calls on "geese falling out of the sky". The majority of these have been snow geese (40) in the last 3 days. Just this morning we received calls from Atchison, Overland Park, Olathe, Lawrence, Tonganoxie, Kansas City KS, Shawnee, Clinton Lake."
For the record, there are reports of the bird flu from many parts of the country including California, Minnesota and Tennessee, too.
Is bird flu in Missouri contagious?
