Leaping Lizards – Why Many are Flocking to Missouri’s ‘Frog Hole’
Missouri cannot be outdone when it comes to being weird. After a hole shaped like a rat went viral in Chicago, the Show Me State stepped up with a sight of its own - a hole shaped like a frog because of course it did.
My wife alerted me to this Facebook share by La Belle Vie / The Cafe at Frenchtown. It's a response to the now-famous rat hole in Illinois. This one located in St. Charles, Missouri is a frog. They said it's located at First Capitol and South Riverside drives in St. Charles.
KSDK in St. Louis is reporting that this frog imprint became famous after Dan Webb shared it to a Facebook group and now this fossilized amphibian is being sought by thousands.
I did my own detective work and think I found this mighty asphalt frog on Google Street View.
He's located in the third bar from the right in the crosswalk. Next time you see someone share this frog on Facebook, Instagram or any of the social media you can let the "influencers" know that you are aware of the real place for this new Missouri viral sensation.
