Owners Brian Nolan and David Brewer are ready to dive into the former Mark Twain Brewing Company location to renovate and redesign the front facade of the historic building.

“We want to give this building the full attention it deserves by making necessary updates while keeping the flavor of the historic building,” Brewer said. “We believe the residents of Hannibal have waited a long time to see something spectacular come from this building. We cannot wait to open our doors to them and serve some of the finest locally brewed craft beers in a friendly environment.”

There are a few major changes that we will see including the new front entrance now will be on Main Street and there will be some major curb appeal at the north end of the building. By doing this, Nolan and Brewer hope that this will attract visitors from the downtown Hannibal area. There will also be a "significant" beer garden space added that will connect to the taproom. This will allow for live music for all guests to enjoy.

Friendship Brewing Company opened in 2016 at its first location in Wentzville, Missouri, and offers 24 house beers and 39 rotating taps. They are also in the process of opening another soon-to-be-open location in Flint Hill, no date has been announced when the Hannibal location will be open.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
