Four people, including a Hannibal firefighter, were hurt as the result of a residential fire Wednesday afternoon.

Hannibal fire crews were called to 1800 Grace Street just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials say they arrived to find flames coming from the front of the house.

All Hannibal fire stations responded, with eleven on duty crew members, four administrative staff and seven off duty firefighters on the scene.

Firefighters rescued a man and two children from the home. A fire crew member suffered minor injuries. All were taken to Hannibal Regional for treatment.

UPDATE: As of midday Thursday, KHQA-TV reported the two children, identified as five year old Logan Shanks and six year old Summer Shanks died from injuries suffered in the fire.

The fire was brought under control in about an hour, but firefighters stayed on the scene to deal with hot spots.
