Here are some serious numbers. $690,000. 4 Missouri homes among the most ritzy neighborhoods. 3 in the United States illegally guilty.

I just saw this stunning case shared by the FBI in St. Louis Missouri on their Facebook page today. They say 3 men from Florida who are in the United States illegally admitted to stealing $690,000 from homes in Ladue and Chesterfield, Missouri.

The United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri added even more details to these heists. They say Benjamin Andres Ovalle-Taibo, 33, and Jonathan Vejar-Caro, 33 and Henry Jose Ferreira-Perez, now 21 were involved in these crimes. Their scheme began in June of 2023 when they first scouted St. Louis area homes for potential targets, then they bought gear to pull off the heists. After stealing from the homes, they stayed at an Airbnb in Illinois and then returned to Florida to sell what they stole.

To quote the FBI, "Ovalle-Taibo pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit the transportation of stolen goods and Vejar-Caro to one count of transportation of stolen goods. Henry Jose Ferreira-Perez, now 21, pleaded guilty to one count of transportation of stolen goods". Henry Jose Ferreira-Perez received a sentence of 14 months in prison. The other two are to be sentenced in October. The FBI in St. Louis says that all are expected to be deported from America once they complete their prison sentences.
