A Missouri man will spend nearly nine 9 years in prison for his involvement in 5 bank robberies plus 1 attempt according to the FBI and prosecutors.

The United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri revealed the sentence just given to a Missouri man for a bank robbery spree that included one failed attempt. The FBI in St. Louis says that Derrick Snulligan, now 62, of Velda Village Hills robbed a bank in Northwoods, Missouri on April 18, 2023. He returned to the same bank in August and robbed it again, but a third try in October resulted in him fleeing after a teller sounded an alarm. In June of 2024, he handed another bank teller a note that said “I[f] you don’t want to get hurt, go in your drawer and give me 6-one hundred dollar bills, 4-fifty dollar bills, 10-ten dollar bills, and 20-5 dollar bills as quickly as possible,”.

Three days later, Snulligan robbed a St. Louis credit union and another one in Florissant. He pleaded guilty to five counts of bank robbery in March and was sentenced to 107 months in prison. The robberies were investigated by the FBI, the Florissant Police Department, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Northwoods Police Department.

“Derrick Snulligan terrorized bank employees who feared for their lives,” said Special Agent in Charge Chris Crocker of the FBI St. Louis Division. “Today’s sentence delivers justice for the trauma he caused.”
