The weather rollercoaster is about to get extreme over the next few weeks in Illinois. After a brief warm up, expect temperatures to dive as Illinois is about to get blasted by the coldest air of the season not once, but twice.

Here's the problem with computer models. They're based on variables and are accurate and dependable as long as those variables remain the same. If they change, the forecasts change. However, we're now close enough to some big weather changes you can expect Illinois to see the coldest air of the season and it's likely to happen twice between now and Thanksgiving.

Direct Weather on YouTube just shared a video entitled "I Can't Believe this... Coldest Air of the Season Incoming" and he's not alone in believing that Illinois specifically will see temperatures dive and soon.

The first wave will begin to impact Illinois late Tuesday, November 19 into Wednesday, November 20 when arctic air blasts into the Midwest sending Illinois into its first real chill of the season.

After a few days of cold, warm temperatures are expected to return by next weekend, Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24. But, wait, there's another blast coming Thanksgiving week. Look at this map for Wednesday, November 27, the day before Thanksgiving.
