The store closures unfortunately continue to snowball the further we get into 2025. A major chain with 600 locations in Missouri will reportedly be closing 96 stores soon.

I saw this breaking news shared by Fast Company this morning. It says that in their 4th quarter earnings call, Dollar General announced they would be closing at least 96 stores and those closures will happen soon in 2025. Here are their exact words in the statement the company released:

"As a result of this review, the Company plans to close 96 Dollar General stores"

The earnings call goes on to say that decreased foot traffic in those locations is the reason for the plans to close.

How many Dollar General stores in Missouri will close?

No specific locations have been named so far by Dollar General, but that should be expected to be revealed soon. Scrape Hero says that there are approximately 600 locations in Missouri.

As this is a developing story, it will be updated once specific locations in Missouri are mentioned. For the sake of their employees and the communities they serve, let's hope the company can turn around their fortunes and make the remaining stores successful soon.
