Report Says Missouri Has 5 Labs that Contain Deadly Plagues?

I wouldn't be so paranoid if it wasn't for the fact that everyone is out to get me. Perhaps that's an exaggeration, but can you identify with the idea that things may be happening around you that are more dangerous than you'd like to think? Well, consider this. A report infers that there are 5 labs in different parts of Missouri that contain deadly plagues. Gulp.

This isn't my list, by the way. This report comes from a very reputable source you might be familiar with - USA Today. It's an interesting look at what they describe as "Biolabs in your backyard". These are classified as BSL-3 and BSL-4 facilities and they add there may be other "high containment" places in the state that experiment with and do research with deadly pathogens/plagues:

• Jefferson City , Missouri - Missouri's State Public Health Laboratory
• Columbia , Missouri - University of Missouri
• Kansas City , Missouri - MRIGlobal
• St. Louis , Missouri - St. Louis University
• St. Louis , Missouri - Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis

As the Half as Interesting video mentions, there are crazy detailed precautions that are taken inside of these facilities, but accidents can and do happen. No, this is no reason for panic, but I do think this is a case where if we knew some of the dangerous things happening near us, we'd likely not sleep as good at night.

Just maybe I've been watching too many movies and this is a big to-do about nothing. Let's hope that's the case.
