Dairy Queen Suddenly Closed 25 Stores, But Good News for Missouri
Please tell me this is not a new trend. There is a report that Dairy Queen has suddenly shuttered 25 locations with almost no notice, but I've uncovered some good news for Missouri.
First, the facts as they stand according to a report by The Daily Mail. 25 Dairy Queen locations are now closed forever and there's even a huge auction of equipment including "fryers, grills, tables, chairs, cutlery and refrigerators" and, yes, even Blizzard machines. However, there's a catch. The story says that you can't pick and choose items. You must bid on ALL the equipment at each of the 25 Dairy Queen locations that are now suddenly closed.
What Dairy Queen locations closed?
I hate to call this good news because it isn't for the places it's happened, but the closing list shows that all 25 Dairy Queens that suddenly closed are all in Texas. Sorry to my friends in the ice cream-loving Lonestar State.
What about the Dairy Queen locations in Missouri?
According to Dairy Queen's store locator page, there are still 104 locations in Missouri and that hopefully will not change anytime soon. Here's something else to calm your nerves if you think this might be the first of many Dairy Queen closures. I want to be clear that it's certainly a possibility, but there are many franchisees around the country who all own many different food brands. For example, one person could own 8 Dairy Queens and then have financial difficulties which causes those places to close. That doesn't mean Dairy Queen is necessarily having a hard time, just that individual.
