Counting Cracker Barrels in Missouri—Where’s the Missing One?
Oh, that logo has become a controversial topic, but I don't want to discuss that aspect of Cracker Barrel. I'm more curious about how many of their restaurants remain in Missouri because there seems to be a discrepancy as one may or may not have vanished.
My favorite Cracker Barrel in Missouri is this one in Columbia
With the ongoing controversy about the brand's decision to change their logo (which I still do not understand all the rage), I went on a vision quest to learn how many Cracker Barrels remain in Missouri. According to an article by Scrape Hero only a couple months ago, they claim there are 18 Cracker Barrel locations in Missouri. Since I was born in Missouri and rarely take anyone's word for anything (which is why it's called the Show Me State), I went directly to Cracker Barrel and found something odd. The official Cracker Barrel website shows only 16 Missouri cities with a restaurant. Kansas City has 2 Cracker Barrels while the other Missouri places only have 1. Even with my admittedly limited math skills, that only adds up to 17 Cracker Barrels in Missouri.
What happened to the 18th Cracker Barrel or did it never exist and Scrape Hero didn't count correctly? There is one guy who found an abandoned Cracker Barrel in Ferguson, Missouri. Is this the missing (Cracker Barrel) link?
I am not a political person and call me crazy, but if a restaurant serves good food I can afford, I'll eat there. I've never had a bad Cracker Barrel experience, but everyone can make up their own mind. I'm more concerned about disappearing restaurants or my admittedly bad math.
