One thing that Illinois does not lack is epic places to dine. That's why it's quite an honor for the only restaurant in the state of Illinois to make one of the most prestigious top 50 best places to eat list.

For foodies, there are very few best of lists that are more important than the annual New York Times America's Best Restaurants list. The new one is a who's who of dining options across the country, but you'll only find 1 Illinois restaurant in their list and it resides in a very unassuming building at 214 W Erie St in Chicago that was built in 1883.

Congrats to Asador Bastian, the only representative of Illinois in the new top 50 best restaurants list. Their official website says "Asador Bastian is a Chicago chophouse with Basque influences from acclaimed Chef Doug Psaltis". I'd say they're doing a pretty great job of "chopping" when your dishes look like this.

According to the New York Times best restaurant list, 32 of the top 50 are new entries this year. Quite and honor for this Chicago, Illinois chophouse to be included among them.
