Chicago’s 10 Best Suburbs Ranked—#1 is a Surprise

It's a tradition in Illinois to root for the underdog. Just ask Rudy Ruettiger. That's why it's appropriate that a new ranking of the best suburbs in Chicago includes a #1 that you probably would not expect.

I thought Homesnacks new rankings of the best burbs in Chicago was interesting. Winnetka always seems to top lists like this, but only ranks #5 in this new burbs ranking. Guess the Home Alone house being in the neighborhood only lasts so long. I also thought Glencoe with its epic beach would have been higher ranked, but it barely made the top 10 at #9. I know that Homesnacks used the typical metrics like crime rates and cost of living, but they also include the wild card of community vibes and their own snark to figure out the final list.
