I don't understand people's fear of Californians, but there's a genuine by some to be where they aren't. If that's you, you might want to consider a fast relocation to Iowa since that's where most Californians aren't.

I laughed when I saw this labeled as a "special report" about where California residents are fleeing to by 24/7 Wall St. To some, a California person is like a human tornado that you want to avoid at all costs. Again, I don't feel that way and have never met a west coast person that I didn't like. I will admit that I seem to be the exception instead of the rule though.

Why is Iowa the place to be for those that fear relocated Californians?

If you look at the metrics shared by 24/7 Wall St, Iowa is one of the states that's near the bottom of the list when it comes to receiving California movers. In just one year, Iowa only had just over 7,000 California residents decide to make the Hawkeye State home.

I will admit that I'm a little surprised by this. I have many family members that call Des Moines home and it's a rather sophisticated (for Iowa) city with a lot of progressive thinkers. Why wouldn't a California resident want to seek out a place like this that at least resembles home? I have no good answer to that question other than to say it just isn't happening.

While more than 20,000 California people relocated to Illinois, the most popular state by far is Texas. Howdy, Stewart?!?

15 States Where People From California Are Moving To The Most
