With the Coronavirus crisis continuing this Friday’s upcoming Red Cross blood drive maybe the most important blood drive ever. Tomorrow the “12-Hours of Giving” blood drive will be held in Quincy at the Quincy Knights of Columbus on South 36th Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  All safety precautions will be in place including safe distancing and masks wearing. With the pandemic we are dealing with the Red Cross has seen a dramatic downturn in donors. Despite the situation, the need is still the same and even greater than ever to supply blood as needed to our area hospitals.  This is why it is so important to donate tomorrow (Friday, May 15).

To insure a steady flow of donors and to try and keep groups of people from donating at the same time, donors are “strongly encouraged” to schedule an appointment to donate. They can schedule a time one of three ways. They can call 1-800-REDCROSS, they can get online at www.redcrossblood.org or they can use the American Red Cross app on their phone.

If they go online, they can use the sponsor code QUINCY12HOURS and that will take you straight to the page to sign up.

This blood drive is critically important not just to the Quincy area but to entire territory. Donors are needed and the Red Cross hopes that if a person is eligible to donate that they will schedule a time to "Give The Gift Of Life".
