Walmart Stores in Illinois Just Quietly Made a Big Pricing Change
No matter how many times you go into a Walmart store in Illinois, there are changes that have been made behind the scenes that you would never see, but they will greatly impact how much you'll pay for certain things in the near future.
This topic came up after the price of eggs in Illinois and elsewhere skyrocketed. What could stores like Walmart have done to see a shortage like this coming? That's when the powers that be decided to use technology to help them overcome problems like this in the future and it's already affecting every single Illinois Walmart store.
What change has Walmart quietly deployed in their stores?
Truth be know, I'd bet that most daily associates don't even realize this has happened inside their stores. The Street is reporting that Walmart is now utilizing artificial intelligence software called Helios.
Walmart is now using Helios to help them understand when there might be supply chain problems like we're seeing now with the bird flu affecting egg availability. Artificial intelligence will then look at historical trends about product availability and then forecast what the might look like in the future.
Illinois Walmart stores will now benefit from this technology even analyzing weather and potentially helping the chain purchase products that could be limited in the near future in bulk now so that they can help moderate prices instead of having a sudden spike like we've seen with eggs this Spring.
This is a new big change that most will never see in Walmart unless they're directly involved in analysis and acquisition. But, it's one that will directly impact everyone in Illinois that shops at these stores.
