Mexican Restaurant Named Best in Missouri Has a Weird Name Now

If you make great tacos, I don't care what you call your restaurant. That's good news for the place in Missouri just named the best Mexican restaurant in the state because it's name is weird.

First, the good news. If you crave Mexican food and you're in Missouri, the appropriately-named website Love Food says you have but one choice if you want the best. They chose a Missouri Mexican restaurant that currently has 8 locations in the state. There are 6 in the St. Louis area and 2 in Kansas City.

What Mexican restaurant in Missouri was named the best?

Session Taco was declared the best Mexican restaurant in Missouri. But, wait. Didn't they used to be Mission Taco? Yes, but they had a legal scuffle with the Mission Taco chip company.

So, what does "Session" have to do with tacos anyway?

For the answer, I defer to the official Session Taco site that says they offer an "inspired Cali-Mex fare, killer cocktails and a laid-back, West Coast vibe". They add "Find your nearest Sesh". Right...

I did live in California for a couple years back in the 1990's and I understand that "laid back West Coast vibe" they speak of. My best guess about why they renamed the chain "Session Taco" is so they could say the abbreviated version "Sesh" a lot. Gotta love the Californians.
