There are few parks that can compare to it and that doesn't just mean Missouri. A new national survey has declared that the third best city park in America is a truly epic one in Missouri.

How many city parks do you know where you can walk by a former US Navy Blue Angels plane?

The massive USA Today audience has chosen Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri as the 3rd best city park in America. It spans 1,300 acres of land which they say makes it one and a half times larger than Central Park in New York City.

This has long been the destination of choice for my family when we go to the big city with the St. Louis Zoo as our most-visited destination. 22 years ago, that was my choice for the first date with the naive woman who would eventually decide to marry me. The truth is we barely scraped the different parts of Forest Park you can explore. There are multiple sports fields and even a golf course. If you're the scientific type, you can stop by the planetarium. This is truly one of the places in St. Louis you'll have a hard time seeing all of what it has to offer.

Does that make it one of the best city parks in America? Absolutely. It's one of the most underrated destinations in the Midwest, in my opinion.
