Well, that was sudden. One of America's more trendy restaurant chains abruptly decided to shutter 15 locations including Illinois and their doors are already locked.

I saw this surprising news shared by Nation's Restaurant News who said the parent company of Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse had made a decision about one of it's newer brands. The company in question is Darden Restaurants, Inc who have just closed 15 Bahama Breeze locations including this one at 406 E Golf Road in Schaumburg, Illinois.

I checked the Schaumburg, Illinois location on the Bahama Breeze website and, sure enough, it redirects you to a general locations page which now does not include any Illinois places. They still apparently have restaurants open in Delaware, Florida, Michigan, Georgia, New Jersey, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania  and Washington state, but Illinois is now Bahama Breeze-less.

Why did Bahama Breeze close the Schaumburg, Illinois restaurant?

The report says that the company said in an email that the 15 locations including Schaumburg, Illinois closed to remove under-performing restaurants to help the thriving restaurant locations be even stronger. This new closure just adds to the volatility of an already challenging year in the restaurant industry.
