First it was QueTown BBQ who announced that they will be closing this weekend, and not another Quincy favorite restaurant will be doing the same.

Drakes Steak & Ale just announced on social media that they will be close their doors on Saturday, September 4. In a Facebook post, the restaurant went on to say,

We are extremely saddened to inform you, our loyal customers and the entire community of Quincy, that due to decisions completely out of our control, we will be closing our DRAKES Steak & Ale location in Quincy. The Atrium on 3rd Hotel has decided to go in a different direction with their facility. Our last day open will be this Saturday, September 4th.

You have to wonder what are the plans that The Atrium Hotel has in store, I guess we will have to wait and see. The Quincy location was the second location for the BBQ restaurant, they also have a location in Hannibal which has closed but there is good news about that location. The Quincy location closing has nothing to do with COVID, new mask regulations, or anything else. The decision is based on what the hotel wants to do to move forward with that space. There is good news about the Hannibal location is set to reopen soon, and they are continuing their catering business.

It looks like we won't have to go without Drakes Steak & Ale for too long, and hopefully they will be able to find a new Quincy location if they decide to reopen a second location.
