Alarming Number of Missourians Say They are Always Lonely
There is something terribly wrong with this. A new survey has revealed an alarming number of Missouri residents who say they are usually or always lonely and that's big trouble.
I saw this interesting study just shared by MSN which I believe originated from The Washington Post. It's based on results from a Census Household Pulse survey asking Americans questions about loneliness that was taken last year. What they found is problematic for Missouri.
- Missouri ranks near the top of states where people say they are "usually" or "always" lonely
- Missouri is near the bottom of the places where survey respondents said they are "rarely" lonely
I'm not qualified to dig into serious mental health issues, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that a majority of Missouri people saying they "always feel lonely" is a very dangerous thing.
I can tell you that I've walked this road myself. Several periods of my life have been spent alone and I know how the voices inside your head can sometimes be your worst enemy when you have no one to interact with or talk to. Fortunately for me, I found my faith at a crucial time that has been my foundation and now I have a wonderful family.
If you're one of those who feels the way many in Missouri said about feeling lonely "always", know that life can and will get better. More people care about you than you think and the breakthrough you've been hoping for might be just around the corner.
Never give in to the darkness. It will lie to you and you are more valuable than you know. I am living proof.
