Adams County Records a New Positive Case of COVID-19
The Adams County Health Department this morning announced one new case of COVID-19 in Adams County. This positive case brings the total number of confirmed cases to 41 in Adams County. The new positive today is a male in his 80's who resides at the Sunset Home. He is currently in isolation at Sunset Home.
Public health officials have started a contact investigation to understand what contacts the individual had prior to the diagnosis. The Adams County Health Department is working with Sunset Home to identify all close contacts and protect the health and safety of all residents and staff at the facility. Testing for all residents and staff of Sunset Home is currently ongoing.
“We are working with the health department to mitigate the situation and control exposure,” said the Sunset Home administrator, Jerry Neal in a news release today. Neal went on to say “We have set up an isolation unit where residents who are positive for COVID-19 will receive care. We also continue to screen residents and staff and adhere to infection control guidelines outlined by the Illinois Department of Public Health.”
