Adams County Courthouse to Reopen After Early Morning Bomb Threat
An early morning bomb threat shut down the Adams County Courthouse on Tuesday morning.
Sheriff Rich Wagner sent out an email early Tuesday Morning notifying the community of a bomb threat that was called into the 9-1-1 dispatch center. At 8:37 am the 911 dispatch received a call that there was a bomb threat to the courthouse.
The courthouse was evacuated and a perimeter was set around the courthouse. The courthouse will be closed until further notice. We would like for the public to not come to the courthouse until we have sent notice of the courthouse re-opening.
After a search of the courthouse was determined to be safe with the Sheriff’s Deputies and officers from the Secretary of State Police Hazardous Device Unit and The Adams County Courthouse will re-open today at 1:00 PM. This is an ongoing investigation with more information made available when it becomes public.
