Whether it's the Shedd Aquarium or The Field Museum there are several chances to go to both for free this year.

Every year, several museums in Illinois give residents an opportunity to visit their facility for free. Most of them are in Chicago, so you could make a fun day going to several different places.

The Art Institute of Chicago offers select free admission days for Illinois residents throughout the year. Weekdays (Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays) from Jan. 3 – March 17, 2022, are the free days offered through the art institute. The Field Museum will host free days on January 9 and 26, and then Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23.

Shedd Aquarium (one of my favorites to visit) will host their free admission days on Feb. 7 – 11, 2022, and then again on Feb. 14 – 18, 2022. Free dates for the Museum of Science and Industry, and The Chicago History Museum will announce their free admission dates soon.

I am sure that there will be more dates announced for all these museums at a later date. There will not be any for the summer, since these are the busiest days for all the museums. Each place has its own uniqueness to it and exhibits that they have and all are fun to visit. So, why not go and save some money at the same time.

PICTURES: See Inside America's Jaw-Dropping Most Expensive Home

A staggering estate listed as "America's most expensive home" is currently listed for sale in Bel Air, Calif., for $295 million, and pictures show a one-of-a-kind home that's almost impossibly elaborate and massive. The 100,000-square-foot, 29-bedroom, 41-bathroom home will be the most expensive private residence sale in the U.S. if it brings that price, and that price tag comes with every conceivable amenity, including a private nightclub, full-service beauty salon, wellness spa, 10,000-square-foot sky deck, 400-foot glass-walled outdoor running track with a view of the city and a private movie theater with seating for more than 40 people.
