In the past 30 days, more than 3,000 Illinois workers have learned they were now jobless. It looks like that number will now grow even more as two Illinois companies have just submitted notices to the state that they will begin mass layoffs starting in June.

The Illinois Work Net site shows two new submissions of WARN notices letting the state know that they will need to layoff workers soon. The first comes from United Facilities in Galesburg, Illinois. The notice says that 62 workers will be laid off starting on June 16, 2025.

Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation in Naperville, Illinois also submitted a WARN notice that also shows layoffs starting in June. 43 workers will be laid off starting June 13, 2025.

There is no confirmation as of this date whether these layoffs will be temporary or permanent. The hope is that these are simply jobs that are part of a company restructuring as that can happen when these notices are submitted sometimes.

It's also possible that workers are being laid off at one location, but being given the opportunity to transfer to another. The Illinois Work Net site says 3,141 workers have been laid off in the past 30 days, 6,502 in the last 3 months and 16,594 in the past year.
