I realize that destinations are a very subjective thing. But, I have found what I believe is the best day trip you can possibly take from Missouri and I'll try to prove it with science.

One of the benefits of being born and raised in Missouri with good parents is I have experienced just about every epic day trip and vacation you can imagine. I speak from experience when I tell you that this is one should be at or near the top of your vacation/day trip destination list. Even better news is it's located right across the Missouri border in northern Arkansas.

What is the best day trip you can take from Missouri?

I believe that the best (or at least one of the greatest) destination is Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I don't want to sound like I'm part of their chamber of commerce, but there really is something for everyone just like their motto says. Check out these places all located just a hop, skip and a jump from Missouri.

I could go on and on. My mom and dad took me to the Eureka Springs part of Arkansas when I was a kid and the Great Passion Play was an incredibly moving experience. We did so much in such a short amount of time I can heartily recommend it to anyone who's looking for an epic day trip from Missouri. Our family took a lot of them when I was younger and this was as good as it gets. Seriously. And, it's right across the border from Missouri.
