I am a big fan of underachievement or at least that's what my guidance counselor told me many years ago. With that in mind, perhaps I should move to the new dumbest town in Missouri that's just been crowned as it reportedly only has 6% of its population that are considered "highly educated".

I want to be clear that I'm not making fun of this small Missouri town. It's not easy living in a town of just over 6,000 in the middle of America. I also want to be transparent and say this is NOT my list. I'm not nearly smart enough to put together a ranking that computes dropout rate of students and the percentage of the population that is "highly educated". Would it be too embarrassing for me to admit that I don't even fully understand what "highly educated" means?

Let's get to the point. Roadsnacks used the dropout rate and highly-educated-ness of cities to determine "the dumbest places in Missouri". With that methodology, there can be only one king of dumbness and that is...(*drum roll*)...

Bonne Terre, Missouri

With a dropout rate of 23% and only 6% of the population "highly educated", we have a winner.

To its credit, Bonne Terre is located in a very pretty part of Missouri south of St. Louis and north of Farmington. Their old mine rocks, too.

There's also the possibility that the person that put together this ranking is not good at math and got the numbers wrong. (I've got your back, Bonne Terre) Tons of interesting historical places there, too, that I have not learned about...
