It's not some untold revelation that Missouri has some very unique places. Among them is a real life vineyard that just so happens to be located inside a cave.

This wine in a Missouri cave idea came up on my radar when a YouTuber shared a short video during her visit to Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. It's a vineyard in a cave experience as only Missouri could do it.

The official Cave Vineyard website provides some backstory about how this unique Missouri destination came to be:

The first 7 acres of grapevines were planted in 2000. An additional 7 acres were planted in 2001. The first harvest of these vines was in August of 2003.

They also say this Missouri place is really a family affair run by the owner's daughters and their husbands and their grandchildren.

As you walk down the pathway and into the natural cave, you'll find plenty of tables and (spoiler alert) wine!

One awesome aspect of the Cave Vineyard is it's open year round and hosts a lot of bridal showers and other private events. They say they've won many awards with their wine in the nearly 20 years that they've been cultivating.

There are few places in America other than Missouri where you really can find fine wine and experience it in a cave. Check out the official website about this neat Sainte Genevieve, Missouri place.
